Halloween is a celebration that some people celebrate on the 31st of October. 

People celebrate Halloween in different ways but it is always something scary.

Some people go trick or treating and some people dress up or wait for the kids to come and trick or treat at their house. Some people think going trick or treating is pointless but what is pointless about free candy?

For Halloween you can dress up as whatever you want to be. Me and my friend are going as vampires. Halloween is fun but not everyone likes Halloween and that's fine everyone likes different things.

Halloween was orgonally called All-hallows and eventually evolved into Halloween.

My Mother the Witch

Hi, this story is about the day my mum showed up to school as a witch. My mum is a make-up artist and a hair dresser(in training). One day she showed up to school as a Witch. I remember two kids from my class coming up yo me and saying they thought she was stalking them. When my mum finally found me I told her she looked awesome and then she told me she came here to try and embarrass me and I just laughed.

Planet Earth (part 2)

Planet earth is the home to every living thing we know. Earth has been our only home for centuries but how old is it really. How did it come into existence and what is it made of?

4.6 billion years ago earth was created from the remnants of dead stars that collided in a giant dirty gas cloud. The cloud became denser in its centre and formed an accretion disk.

Small particles began to start clumping together and got bigger and bigger and are now what we call planets today.

This process took 10 to 20 million years and is still not understood well.

Around that time when the solar system was just formed and was a bit chaotic, an object around as big as mars collided with our home, planet earth if the object had been any more bigger it might have destroyed planet earth. Materials from earth smashed out into orbit which is what formed the moon.

At this time earth was hot and burning with lava and a toxic atmosphere. Earth was constantly being hit by asteroids.

But something was about to change, earth began to cool down a lot water in the earth began to rise up to the surface and rained down on earth only to evaporate and become clouds again….

The Cyclone Cook of April 13th 2017

Hi, this is my blog where i share my learning with people! Today i'm publishing my weather report. In April 13th this year(2017) we had something called a cyclone cook.

Apparently it was meant to be the worst storm since 1968, but did we overreact to the Cyclone Cook?

The flood ravaged bay of plenty is already in a state of emergency as the cyclone cook advances closer to our shores, ahead of this low coming off the Tasman that is packed with heavy rain affecting the south island before tracking the north. already rain is starting to fall across the top of the south island and brushing over the coromandel.Ahead of the forecast is bad weather, the red cross has pre-positioned supplies and has terms across the country on standby ready to respond.Now there are fresh concerns cook may make landfall closer to Auckland and the coromandel, sending even more rain over the flood-hit bay of plenty.

The temperature of the air is controlled by 2 different sorts of waves of light 1 that we can can see which is the visible light and one that we can’t see

The sun rays don’t actually heat up the air directly because the air is very transparent to our sun's ray so almost everything that comes from the sun just passes through the air it doesn't really warm it up the fact is that the sun comes up

In food tec this week me and my group needed to fill in a table and here it is.

	Salads-Healthy Sweets-Unhealthy	Salads- fruits and vegetables, fresh, not packed with sugar and doesn't include extra fat. Sweets-Includes sugar, isn’t healthy, can give you diabetes and can include fat.	Washing the contents of the salad. Some things will include a hole process of machine work.

ConnectED tec.

A couple months ago I went to southwell school for the tec. connectED corse. Everyone arrived in a car ms O’neil didn’t come because she was sick so Pipa came instead. I walked with my dad until he left and I took my first class/table that was robotics and tec. But I was a little late so I came in the middle of it. We learned about how some of the robots move and function.

My second class was Bricks4kidz. We made a car out of lego by following some simple instructions(That I found hard) to build it. We used a motor so it would work and move so we had to attach wheels I just finished as we had to move so I didn’t get to test it but I did meet two nice people that helped me out and worked together on some other stuff.

My third class was coding and gaming. This was the first time we used the chromebooks for an activity. I realized last year we had used this site so I knew how it worked.

We also had a break I was hungry and drank some water

My fourth activity was Breakout the teacher locked something in a box and put 4 locks on it

Here are the locks

5.a lock where there is a movable circle in the middle and you have to get the right directions

I got the first key which was the normal lock and key, then once we opened them all there was a plastic container with chocolate in it and laminated signs saying WE BROKE OUT!!

So we held them up by the timer and she took our picture then we got our chocolate

My fifth activity was after lunch called squishy circuits. I worked with one of friends and we used play dough to connect the circuits and make them work.

My sixth activity was virtual reality I tried but didn’t do very well to be honest but my friends I met there encouraged me to keep trying and i managed to finish the level.

In the 2nd to last slide we got people to write what there comments were when they came around to watch/read our slide.

Fresh water is water that doesn't have a large amount of salt in it. Do you ever wonder about the fresh water that is left on planet earth? Well one good question is, does the small amount of fresh water in our hydrosphere ever change?Most of the water on earth is in the sea. About 97% of the water on earth is salt water but, fresh water is found in mostly lakes, rivers, ponds, wetlands and streams. Our fresh water that is left on earth is becoming less fresh with pollution. If more pollution keeps getting into our fresh water or any of our water we wont have any clean water left. So we need to stop polluting and save the earth.

SCAMPER part 2

Just after dawn the dwarf woke Laurance up “The job is done!” He said

“What will you give me?” Asked the dwarf

“My diamond bracelet.” Said Laurance

When the princess came in the dwarf disappeared. When she came in the princess saw plenty of crowns. “Perfect you do really have a gift but to be safe you shall make some more tonight.” Said the princess.

“Yes your majesty” as Laurance bowed

The princess spent the day with Laurence and thought he was a kind, handsome and sweet. Soon the princess fell in love with Laurance. Then the dwarf came back again and made more crowns when he woke up there were more priceless crowns. The princess came in the room again.

“This is unbelievable!!” Cried the princess.

Yet again they spent another day together falling in love more and more.

“If you do this one more time you shall be set free.” Said the princess

“Alright” Said Laurance

The dwarf appeared again

“So what will you pay me with this time??” asked the dwarf

“I have nothing” said Laurance

“NOTHING!!!!” cried the dwarf

“Do you mean you're not  going to pay for all the work I’ve done for you.”

“The princess said she would free me” said Laurance

“Well there's one thing…” said the little women

“What? Name it!” cried Laurance

“I want your first born child when you are king”

“Alright anyway what's the chance of  me being king?”

The dwarf disappeared.

The princess saw all the crowns and asked Laurance to marry her.

The man was amazed then thought of the promise to the dwarf did he know what the princess was going to say?

Time passed and nearly a year later the queen had a baby Laurance loved her dearly with blonde hair like her mother. Laurance was left alone with the baby one day and the dwarf came back…

SCAMPER(part 1)

Once upon a time there was a woman who loved to brag about her son, Laurance.

One day she went to visit a friend who worked as a chef in the palace.

“My son is very handsome and skillful!”

While she was bragging the princess was passing by and heard everything.

“He can even make priceless crowns!”

“REALLY!!!” exclaimed the princess.

“You must send him to me!”

“Yes your majesty.”

“Wait!” yelled the mother.

“I..I might of been over exaggerating!”

“Well...SEND HIM TO ME ANYWAY!!”

“Y...Y..Yes your majesty…”

As the mother made her way home Laurance was there.

“Is everything alright mother?”asked Laurence.

“Well...I..Um..”

“Oh no what have you been saying now?”

“Well..I may of said that you could make priceless...heh..Crowns..” the mother said.

“Oh mother!” cried Laurance

“But Laurance my dear, I was simply telling my friend, the chef, how clever you are!’ His mother said.

So Laurance hurried to get some things together and returned to the castle with the princess's guards and his mother.

The princess was waiting in the hall.

“I understand you have a remarkable gift,” Said the Princess

“I believe my mother may have over exaggerated somewhat, he is inclined to say things he may not mean.” Laurance said

“But I heard him say it with my own ears.” the princess said

“A room is ready for you.” A guard said as he approached them.

Before Laurance could say anything else she was led to a large room full of piles of straw that she was supposed to turn into priceless crowns, then the door slammed behind him.

Laurance sat down against the door and water began to fill his eyes.

How could he turn straw into gold? It was impossible!

Night was passing and Laurence's  fingers were sore with trying to spin straw but not a single coin of gold appeared.

He put his head in his hands, it was hopeless.

“Ahem. maybe I can help.”

Laurance looked up, he had heard no one come in but there standing in front of him

was a strange looking dwarf “I don’t think anyone can help.” Laurance said

“Why ever not?” The women asked “I must spin this straw into crowns for the princess.” Laurance said “Well,” The dwarf said looking around “Maybe I CAN help. You rest up for awhile and when you wake up all your troubles will be gone.” She said. The boy couldn’t see how she could help with his troubles but he lay down anyways and fell asleep. While the dwarf worked she whistled which helped Laurance fall asleep....
