Wood carving-Painting reflection

Hello everybody! Today I finished painting my white lines around my kowhaiwhai patterns(If you have no idea what i'm talking about go down to my wood carving post). We have to do a double layer(which I've already done) and then make the lines thinner. Here's a picture of it...

Mine is the one with the black background and the white out lines around the red.

"Line up" The teacher yelled as the students lined up for their race. The teacher picked up two wooden blocks and stood at the end of the line and yelled "Ready! Set!...GO!" As she yelled go she banged the blocks together and we ran off. one of the students sprinted off then was left in the back lot i slowly made my way up by jogging  and got faster and faster as I went until...the hill. The hill was coming up and I was worrying but I looked around me and everyone was puffed "Maybe I have a chance?" I said quietly to myself then slowly speed walked up the hill... TBC

In wood carving we had to start out with a kowhaiwhai design in our art book and then we had a piece of card and had to draw our design on it then cut in out here's a picture of mine...

Then we had to draw it on the wood and carve it lightly and then go over it and make the lines thicker like this, this is a picture of mine...


Then we needed to pick our colors and paint this is mine so far I still need to do the outline in white which is my last step here's a picture of mine so far...

Art exhibition

At school we are having a art exhibition, and each class gets a letter to design because we are going to spell our school saying on the fence by the courts. Were spelling Tu Tangata Tu Maia. Our class has the letter T and we are making a bookcase out of wood and putting wood blocks in them but were painting the front and back and spine so it looks like a blog. People who have a darker painted color makes the sharpie not always show but silver, bronze and gold do show. Japanese information

Hello! Welcome to my blog. Today we had some people come to our school from Japan, we had to do research on Japan so we could learn more and tell them! this is what me and my buddy Katelyn found out. The Japanese name for Japan is Niho which means sun origin. Niho isn’t the only word in Japanese for Japan, people also call it Nippon. Tokyo is the capital city of Japan, also the largest city. In 2012 the population there were over 127 million people living in Japan, which is the tenth largest population in the world. Almost three quarters of Japan’s land is either forest or mountains. Human life in Japan dates back thousands of years, in Japanese tales ancient warriors A.K.A samurai would protect the people of Japan.

The Lord's Village

One day a lord was walking through her village and noticed a man with two guards standing behind him was in the plaza talking to the red haired animal lover women, Kiki ¨Whats going on here?¨ Aphmau the lord said ¨Hello my name is Zane and these are my two guards. I have traveled here from O´kasis for a small...visit.¨ He said. Aphmau wasn't sure but just went with it ¨Well enjoy your stay. This evening we have a wedding so well get you settled in  a ho-¨ ¨Oh we will be attending.¨ Zane said ¨Oh...Uh sure.¨ Aphmau said They were not on the guest list but Donna and Logan wouldn't mind they are the one´s getting married but they are nice people. Aphmau thought. That night after the wedding, Aphmau was woken up by Zoe, the town elf. Zoe had studied the barrier magics and could sense magic. Aphmau woke up with Zoe standing right over her ¨Aphmau! Something is in the village and its not good! I can sense some magic, BAD magic!¨ Zoe said freaking out ¨Zoe calm down!¨ Aphmau come downstairs Garroth is waiting for you.¨"Zoe said. Aphmau got out of bed and immediately cheeked on her son Levin. As she walked into his room Levin was fast asleep in his cot. Aphmau went downstairs in her bunny pajamas and walked over to Garroth her guard, but he wasn't the only one standing there Kiki, Zoe and Garroth were all there ¨Aphmau there is some bad magics in town! The animals can feel it two! They all escaped, something is wrong with nature at the moment.¨ Kiki said ¨Is the village aware of this?¨ Aphmau asked ¨No, only us and some of the guards.¨ Zoe said ¨Thank goodness your okay malady.¨ Garroth said ¨What could it be? We haven´t had any disturbance recently and we have little Alexis the new born baby in town!¨ Kiki said. Then Aphmau immediately turned her head and looked over to the house Zane was staying in and remembered the threat towards Alexis Zane had told Aphmau then she knew what it was. "Remember the necklaces Zane gave baby Alexis at the baby shower?" Aphmau said "That must have been the weird feeling I was getting from something at the baby shower! It must have been that!" Zoe said. Then Aphmau went into her house and into her underground area were she kept her things. She reached into the chest and pulled out two objects then walked back upstairs and outside. "Are you sure TNT will do it? They used some kind of almost unbreakable thing to cover up the windows." Kiki said "I have some more down stairs if needed." Aphmau said "Are you sure something this dangerous m'lady?" Garroth asked "Yes, i'm sure." Aphmau said. As they walked down the hill to Zane's house she stood there with the TNT in one hand and the flint and steel in the other. She slowly walked up to the house and place the TNT on the floor...

Cross country

Hello! Welcome to my blog where I share all my learning. Soon we have cross country coming up and we had to write about training, hope you enjoy my writing!

Cross Country

Cross country is coming up and we have been training for a few weeks and the whole kauri team is practicing too. When we practice as a class we use the beep test to train.

Most days, when it isn’t raining, we go outside for fitness. We haven’t been running with the whole kauri team much just with Rm12 & 11. When we run the real course together, it tires everyone out!

August 24th is Friday, the day of cross country and it’s coming closer and closer each week, we haven’t practiced much. I think if we don’t practice before the day comes  we might not reach our goals.

A Starlight Sunset

A man slowly walked across the beach wearing a purple sleeveless jersey and black shorts, icy wind slashed at his face as he walked… his Black, dark purple and white dog Celesta came running up to him. He leaned down to pat her then looked up to see her crouched down on the beach against the sunset wearing a cherry red sarong wrapped around her waist draping down to her legs and bikini. She slowly stood up, standing against the sunset. They slowly walked closer to each other, no words needed all he needed was her beauty and all she needed was to see him, after all that had happened they tried to put the past behind them. Small tears of happiness began to build up behind their eyes as they pulled each other into a hug. It was a moment to be remembered.

The Wolf Queen

Once in the jungle centuries ago animals such as lions, tigers, monkeys, foxes, snow leopards and more lived in harmony. Until one day a wolf started a vicious fight with the other animals.The wolf's worshiped her but as for the other animals they were forced to be slaves and fight there own kind because after that wolf won the vicious fight the wolfs couldn't think of anything else but to make her queen. the ones who escaped were hunted down and put underground and was sure to never see the light again or if they had not found them they were definitely looking for them

Wandering through the park it felt like something was watching them. They saw a shadow behind the tree, then a shaking abandoned cat came out. They took it home and they called him King Eli The 3.

The eyes in the painting follow him down the corridor as he walked off the painting changed…

My hair stood on end, a shiver raced down my spine and a lump came to my throat. It was him ... he fainted next to the wyvern so we  took him to the village “He’s okay but i’m afraid… he’s blind.” she said

"Follow me!" she whispered as they walked into the forest to see a almost destroyed house she saw a vision of the fire then found a secret underground basement… the diary lay still on the desk and the candle still raging with flame...

Scamper update

HI! This is my SCAMPER update earlier on my blog I said I would update it and here it is with more to the story. Please comment on what you think and enjoy the story.

Once upon a time there was a woman who loved to brag about her son, Laurance.

One day she went to visit a friend who worked as a chef in the palace.

“My son is very handsome and skillful!”

While she was bragging the princess was passing by and heard everything.

“He can even make priceless crowns!”

“REALLY!!!” exclaimed the princess.

“You must send him to me!”

“Yes your majesty.”

“Wait!” yelled the mother.

“I..I might of been over exaggerating!”

“Well...SEND HIM TO ME ANYWAY!!”

“Y...Y..Yes your majesty…”

As the mother made her way home Laurance was there.

“Is everything alright mother?”asked Laurence.

“Well...I..Um..”

“Oh no what have you been saying now?”

“Well..I may of said that you could make priceless...heh..Crowns..” the mother said.

“Oh mother!” cried Laurance

“But Laurance my dear, I was simply telling my friend, the chef, how clever you are!’ His mother said.

So Laurance hurried to get some things together and returned to the castle with the princess's guards and his mother.

The princess was waiting in the hall.

“I understand you have a remarkable gift,” Said the Princess

“I believe my mother may have over exaggerated somewhat, he is inclined to say things he may not mean.” Laurance said

“But I heard him say it with my own ears.” the princess said

“A room is ready for you.” A guard said as he approached them.

Before Laurance could say anything else she was led to a large room full of piles of straw that she was supposed to turn into priceless crowns, then the door slammed behind him.

Laurance sat down against the door and water began to fill his eyes.

How could he turn straw into gold? It was impossible!

Night was passing and Laurence's  fingers were sore with trying to spin straw but not a single coin of gold appeared.

He put his head in his hands, it was hopeless.

“Ahem. maybe I can help.”

Laurance looked up, he had heard no one come in but there standing in front of him

was a strange looking dwarf “I don’t think anyone can help.” Laurance said

“Why ever not?” The women asked “I must spin this straw into crowns for the princess.” Laurance said “Well,” The dwarf said looking around “Maybe I CAN help. You rest up for awhile and when you wake up all your troubles will be gone.” She said. The boy couldn’t see how she could help with his troubles but he lay down anyways and fell asleep. While the dwarf worked she whistled which helped Laurance fall asleep. Just after dawn the dwarf woke Laurance up “The job is done!” He said

“What will you give me?” Asked the dwarf

“My diamond bracelet.” Said Laurance

When the princess came in the dwarf disappeared. When she came in the princess saw plenty of crowns. “Perfect you do really have a gift but to be safe you shall make some more tonight.” Said the princess.

“Yes your majesty” as Laurance bowed

The princess spent the day with Laurence and thought he was a kind, handsome and sweet. Soon the princess fell in love with Laurance. Then the dwarf came back again and made more crowns when he woke up there were more priceless crowns. The princess came in the room again.

“This is unbelievable!!” Cried the princess.

Yet again they spent another day together falling in love more and more.

“If you do this one more time you shall be set free.” Said the princess

“Alright” Said Laurance

The dwarf appeared again

“So what will you pay me with this time??” asked the dwarf

“I have nothing” said Laurance

“NOTHING!!!!” cried the dwarf

“Do you mean you're not  going to pay for all the work I’ve done for you.”

“The princess said she would free me” said Laurance

“Well there's one thing…” said the little women

“What? Name it!” cried Laurance

“I want your first born child when you are king”

“Alright anyway what's the chance of  me being king?”

The dwarf disappeared.

The princess saw all the crowns and asked Laurance to marry her.

The man was amazed then thought of the promise to the dwarf did he know what the princess was going to say?

Time passed and nearly a year later the queen had a baby Laurance loved her dearly with blonde hair like her mother. Laurance was left alone with the baby one day and the dwarf came back.

Paragraphing

When you eat food it gives you energy to do things throughout the day. There is healthy food such as fruit and vegetables and there is sugar packed food such as candy and cupcakes. Meat is also an existing food and red meat gives you iron.

If you don’t eat food you are destined to get sick or possibly die. Food helps you with energy, and protein.  If you eat too much candy or sweets your teeth will become extremely yellow(Especially if you don’t brush your teeth).

They call up the swimmers I step up on to the side of the pool then onto the diving board on.Your marks, get set, GO!They ring the bell the swimmers all dive into the water with a big splash and kick off.I'm quite good at swimming because i'm very tall and my hair doesn't get in my face because it short, short strawberry blond hair.I'm coming forth but just then I past second and third or is it the other way around?Well i'm not sure the only thing i'm sure about now is that i'm coming first.I think i shouldn't get my hopes up because they could catch up.Now i'm going down back to where we started.Wait i can't believe it second place is catching up to me!No no this is not happening!Wait what had happened?It was like i pushed off from another wall and i have full energy.Almost there almost my heart skips a beat but then i hear my heart beating from all through my body and I WIN! I was so excited i almost fainted i got a gold medal (which i find more exciting than winning)i was so proud of myself and congratulated the other swimmers.I thought this was the best race ever and i'm glad i practiced.
